Biniax is an open-source puzzle game originally written for Microsoft Windows and Linux, but later ported to dozens of other platforms by enthusiasts worldwide. Today, it runs on almost everything. Search for it in your favorite Linux distro's repository, get it from Google Play for Android, or download it here for MS Windows or many other platforms.

The gameplay is extremely simple—move your block and clear your path. You can take any pair from the field and gain score by following this simple logic:

Initially prototyped in Python, the Biniax game was born. After achieving the best game balance, it was ported to C using the SDL library and released under an open-source license. The simple game mechanics gained many fans quickly. The sleek visual design made it rather a niche game than a casual one.

2005, Biniax-Mobile:

Completely re-written in Java 2ME for every mobile phone at the time, Biniax reached its best target group—mobile gamers.

2007, Biniax-2:

It was time to reach the hearts of casual gamers. Biniax-2 featured several game modes, funny graphics, and a rich music soundtrack. This is also the most ported version of Biniax and the default when we say Biniax today.

2025, BINIAX today:

Not much has changed between 2007 and today, except that Biniax has stood the test of time. Thanks to the great support from the programmer's community, it's now spread across every major OS and platform. There are several remakes and homages of Biniax, and each is a tribute to the original. Thank you for your support!
